I'm ready for the weather to start warming up. Decided to play with the Springtime Joy set. Had to fussy cut everything, but worth it for these cute cards. Used Stampin' Blends to color them, Used the Blender Brushes to do the grass and sky, using Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green.
Had so much fun with these 2 bundles. Have more cut out, so will be making more later.
Received a request to send cards to a red hatter that is turning 90 on Mar. 3. She is also the Queen of the Jammin' Strawberries in Ashland, VA. I had some cards partially started with the Berry Deligtful DSP from Sale-a-brations. I finished it off with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. Perfect for her. Mailed it out yesterday. Hopefully, with the way mail has been so slow, it will get there in time. The "Happy Birthday" is from Hey Birthday Chick dies.
While I love this kit, I dislike the need for this type of card. Unfortunately, I also had a need for them right away. Sympathy cards are my least favorite to make and I have had to send too many over the last few months. My dear friend and red hat sister, Myra lost her husband, Jim on Feb. 16th (Berry card previously shared is for her) and my dearest friend and red hat and black hat sister, Carmen Rivera unexpectedly lost her nephew, Pedro Baez. I just found out that a friend and stamp customer lost her dad, I also know her mom, so 2 cards needed for them. None COVID related, but still so sad and hard to accept.
Update: Had to make more of the cards for more losses. Too many friends losing loved ones and too many with loved ones that are ill and may not be with us long.
Such a pretty set and now that I've used it, I love it even more. Used the Baby Wash Technique for coloring them in & stamping them.
I love dragonflies and while I am not a fan of dandelions in my yard, I do still think the flower is pretty and I loved blowing the milkweed fairies into the wind as a child and even now with my granddtr. SO this set brought back many memories and the making of new ones and my love for dragonflies, they still fasinate me. I used the Oval Occassions set again and the sentiment is from Forever Fern. I also used the new Blending Brushes and Balmy Blue ink pad to put in sky around the dandylions.
Sadly, I needed a Sympathy Card for a dear friend, Myra Kieffer whose darling husband, Jim passed away Feb. 16th. He has been in the hospital for over a month, I believe and has been under hospice care and unfortunately unconcious since 2/11. Their 3rd anniversary was on 2/14, making it all so very hard.
Then right after I hear of his passing I found our my dear, dear friend Carmen Rivera lost her nephew/godson, Pedro (51 y.o.) unexpectedly. He wasn't feeling well and asked his father to ake him to ER, 2 hrs. after dropping him off his father received a call advising him that Pedro had a massive heart attack and passed away. Pedro's mother (Carmen's sister) had passed away recently as well, just making the situation even worse. He left behind a 25 y.o. son, who is not handling the loss well. He is now staying with Pedro's father (also named Pedro). Hopefully, they can console one another over the losses they have suffered. I am waiting for this month's My Paper Pumpkin (MPP) to make her card as it's theme is Sympathy. Also holding off on mailing this one, to see if I prefer the MPP one for her as well.
Played with these stamp sets. Paw Paw has been taking Bonnye out to play everytime it snows and I couldn't resist making a card for him to give her with the Treasures of Life. He gave it to her for Valentine's. I got the Hot Dog set with my SIL, Becky in mind, as she use to raise Long-haired Dachshunds, but she likes the short-haired ones too.
Addressed and mailed a bunch of Valentine's Day cards today to family and a few friends. Had to make 1 more to send to a friend. Next will be a card for hubby, J&K and Bonnye.
I love this little add-on kit. I made 6 boxes for a luncheon I hope tob e going to tomorrow, if we don't get snowed out. I will make some more for another luncheon on Sat., but that one will probably get snowed out. If they do, I will just save them and give them out at our next gathering. Hoping this pandemic will be over soon, so we can gather in our larger groups again. Right now we have been keeping it to 4-8 people and only rarely get-together.
I didn't get this set, but one of my customers did and she gave me permission to stamp some images for Bonnye and I before delivering it to her. Bonnye just kept commenting while I made these as to how cute she thought the girls were and wish I would get it. Guess I'm gonna be breaking down and getting it for her. LOL! It really is a cute set.
I bought this set at Bonnye's request and decided to play with it and made 2 Valentine's Day cards. 1 for a special red hat friend. She loved the first card I shared, so had to make her one. The design on right was inspired by Wendy Cranton on Pinterest.
I cut out more sharks, including the baby shark and some of the accessories for Bonnye to play with later.
