June 2nd is the last day to purchase retiring stamp sets and products. I've updated the "Retiring List" in left sidebar, so that you can see what has sold out to date. It is also the last day to purchase from the current Occasions Mini Catalog. So place your orders now via my DBWS using Hostess code or contact me to place order, you will have to have a credit card for purchases using either method.
On June 2nd, as a hostess (or with your own $150 for hostess benefits) you can choose "Hostess sets from either the current catty or the new catty which goes live on June 2nd, so you can also purchase new merchandise from the new catty. Win, Win!

VCRocks Blog Hop - Celebrate the Old
Hello Fellow Stampers,
This is VCRocks first blog hop of the season and we are "Celebrating the Old". We are sharing creations using items that are retiring this year or we can go back as far as desired and use retired stamps and/or products. I purchased "Perfect Blend" last year and hadn't even used it yet, even though I really liked it, now sadly it is going away, but I will keep it and know I will be using it again and again in the future. Here is a card I made.
Decided to keep with the coffee theme and pulled out a picture of a project I did a few years back using the "Morning Cup" stamp set and the Petite Pocket Die (both retired). I'm not positive of the colors used now, but I believe it was Rose Red and Concord Crush (retired In Color).
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you enjoyed my creations. You can go to http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com to see more creations and get inspired!

I purchased "Perfect Blend" last year and hadn't even used it yet, even though I really liked it, now sadly it is going away, but I will keep it and know I will be using it again and again in the future. Here is a card I made.
Card base is Baked Brown Sugar (retiring In Color), second layer is Early Espresso and then Very Vanilla. I used "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set for the coffee droplets, stamped in Baked Brown Sugar (stamped off once for small droplets). Wrapped two layers in linen thread and adhered to the base. Sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla and punched out with dog tag punch (retired) and then ends trimmed off, punched another piece in Early Espresso and mounted the sentiment on it.
Coffee cup was stamped on Very Vanilla and Early Espresso and cut out whole cup and then the lid and wrapper separately using a die I had gotten elsewhere for this set. Cup was popped up using dimensionals.

May My Paper Pumpkin - Birthday Bundle
I love this month's kit - 4 adorable gift bags and 6 cards to make, especially love the color combo.
Kit contents
Finished project.
I added the colored layer on the circle center of the card. Other than that, everything is what was in the kit. Cute and simple.

Cardmaking Day at Westmoreland Sr. Ctr. in Colonial Beach
Had a great time making Father's Day (for hubbies or sons), Thinking of You and Birthday cards with the ladies this month. Most of the time they pick their paper and stamps and then I make the card for the ones that can't do it themselves, but this time I had a couple that can do some of it themselves.
The 2 cards on the left were chosen by Frances and the one on the right I put together for Cindy Tucker, the center's director.
This card uses Moon Lake stamp set and sentiment is from Guy Greetings.
DSP is from the Adventure Bound Designer Paper Stack in the Occasions catalog.
Guy Greetings, Bermuda Bay
This card also uses paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty DSP and Night of Navy cardstock. Sentiment is from Sassy Salutations stamp set.
Moon Lake, Adventure Bound Paper Stack
Sassy Salutations
Card on left uses paper from Best Day Ever DSP (SAB). Card on right uses a stamp from Moon Lake and sentiment from Guy Greetings.
My sweet ladies enjoying lunch after stamping.
After making cards, I like to drive down the street and go to the beach and went to see if I can see any of the baby Ospreys, but got to see a gaggle of little ducklings and their parents....sooooooo cute!
Thought I was looking at a baby at first, till I started getting fussed at, this one flew away and another came in immediately to replace and take on the care of the babies.
Osprey that fussed at me or was calling the other one and then flew away,
This is the replacement caregiver, coming in.
Also, admired all of the beautiful rose bushes around town. So beautiful!

VCRocks VSD Challenges
On the second Sat. of each month, VCRocks holds a Virtual Stamp Day (VSD) with challenges every few hours. I wasn't able to participate on Sat. as I had a headache and slept the day away. However, we have until noon Monday to participate. They alternated card and scrapbook pages for the challenges. I'm not in the mood to scrapbook, so I am only doing the cards.
VSD Challenge #1 - Make a card using your favorite stamp set in the current catalog.
Stamp set: Sea Street. This is my go-to fun stamp set. Words from Age Awareness stamp set.
VSD Challenge #3 - Use Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Smoky Slate on a card. Used Blushing Bride on the card on left for skin, looks like she has a sunburn, so I used Blush Blossom on the other one. I made 2 cards as I couldn't decide which saying to use and decided to use both.
VSD Challenge #5 - Make a one-layer card.
Used "Sheltering Tree". Love this set. So versatile!
VSD Challenge #7 - Make a non-traditional Christmas card - either with stamp set or color.
I chose colors and used Pool Party and Coastal Cabana card stock and Bermuda Bay marker. I personally don't consider these traditional colors. I wouldn't normally use them.
VSD Challenge #9 - Select a stamp set and make a card using ALL of the stamps in that set.
I used "I (Heart) Hearts".
VSD Challenge #11 - Make a feminine card - no flowers, no pink!
I know this looks a little pink, but in real life its more orange looking. It's Calypso Coral.
