Yeah, VCRocks is Open for the Summer!

What is VCRocks?, you ask! Well, it is a yahoo group I am in...short for Virtual Convention Rocks. It's for those who LOVE Stampin' Up!.  (Demos and non-Demos). Registration opens for new members from May 1 - 30th. Right now it is open to former members. It's a lot of fun and a great way to get motivated to stamp or revive your mojo! The fun really begins on June 1st with a virtual hotel (get a roomie), poolside chats and pool boys (pic your favorite hunk to wait on you - LOL!), Challenges, RAKS, Games, Blog Hops, Swaps, etc.  There are also blue-butted monkeys reeking havoc and making moonshine in the washing machines.

During April and May previous members receive pre-challenges to participate in if desired. Here are my first 2 submissions for those.
Pre-challenge #1

a. Cut 4 half sheets of cardstock (5.5x8.5), any COLOR (label exhibit 1 a-d)
b. Cut 4 quarter sheets of cardstock (4x5.25), any COLOR at least 1 being
white/vanilla & 1 being DSP (label exhibit 2 a-d)
c. Cut 4 strips of cardstock no wider than one inch, any COLOR at least one
being DSP(label exhibit 3 a-d)
d. Punch 4 pieces of cardstock- use any punch desired, any COLOR (label
exhibit 4 a-d)

Pre-challenge #2 - Retired list is out, make sure to update your supplies & stamps so you know what is retired!   Working on this one still. Catalog has been marked for retired stamps and product, just have to mark the items I have.

Pre-challenge #3
Take the layer pieces (4x5.25)
1. Vanilla/White use your favorite technique to decorate.
2. DSP to be left alone
3. 1 Piece emboss with a TIEF
4. Last piece leave blank

Pre-challenge #4
Take your 1-4 A pieces & make a card using ONLY word sets.

Pre-challenge #5
Share your card with group

Pre-challenge #6
Make a card using 1-4 B pieces with any set from the birthday section of the
catalog pg 48-59. I got lucky and had used a set on #5 from this section, so used it again. The background paper was made using baby wipes and re-inkers. Drops of re-inkers on a stack of 3-4 baby wipes and layed paper on it to absorb. Longer it sits more the ink spreads, I didn't wait long enough, I had wanted a tie-dye like effect, but decided I liked this, so didn't wait longer and redo.

Here is a list of items used for both cards.

I LOVE this month's cards, especially the ones with the buffalos. They remind me of our trip to hubby's sister's country home in...
