Christmas Cards at Sr. Ctr.

As I have mentioned before I go to the Westmoreland Sr. Ctr. once a month to make cards. This month we started on their Christmas cards. Here are a few samples of what they made using the "Peaceful Seasons" stamp set. Some of the paper is retired, but inks and markers used are current. Sorry, the pictures aren't very good, forgot my camera, so these were taken with my cellphone.

Trick or Treat!

Here are some adorable treat bags I made for one of my red hat groups using the Ghoulish Googlies Bundle in the current Holiday mini catalog (pg. 27).  So simple to make and so cute!

Baby Shower Invitation, Decorations and Party Favors

I was in charge of the invitations, decorations and party favors for my darling DIL, Karli's baby shower to be held at her mom's house. I had a lot of fun making things. We know she is having a girl, so of course, everything had to be in pink - LOL! I didn't have enough time to make the invitations individually, so I turned to my Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio program and made them and had them printed. Saved me from having to also fill them all out. Here is the cover and the inside left. The right was the standard, when, where and such.

I liked the way they came out
(I did boo-boo and put gray in the oval and didn't realize it until I got them, but they still looked nice)

First I made the party favors using the Pillow Pocket die (retired)in various shades of pink and decorated it with a contrasting color and the DSP that matched the invitation (bottom half) ribbon and little baby-themed trinkets.

I filled them with Jordan almonds and some little baby feet-shaped candy that I found.

For the decorations, I made a banner using the Pennant Die (retired) and my Cricut Expressions. I loved the way it came out. I also decided to make a diaper cake, googled and found the directions online, it was so easy to make. I decorated it with 1-1/4" wide Pink Pirouette ribbon (retired) and the DSP in Rose Red that matched the invitations. I topped it with pink carnations and added some other flowers on the lower levels and cutouts using my Cricut that matched the ones I made for the banner.

"D" is for Dog Sympathy Card

We have all had to put a beloved pet down at some point and we all know how hard that is. They become such an intergral part of our families. We have lost several beloved cats over the past few years. Recently, one of my hubby's co-workers had to put down his dog that he had rescued and has had for quite sometime and it was difficult. Harold asked me to make a card for him to give him from us, since we know how hard it is. He didn't ask until late the night before, so I kept it simple. I went ahead and made several extra, as I know several people with older dogs, so I figured I would keep some on hand. I was happy with the way they turned out for such short notice.I made 2 with Not Quite Navy and 2 with Night of Navy and both also used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the ticket corner punch as well. Can you guess which color combo he took - LOL!

Now to make some with "C" is for Cats, as I have a lot of friends with cats as well.

More St. Patty's Day Treats

Sorry for the delay in posting, but here are the treat bags I made for my other 2 red hat groups. I went a lot simpler on these and just did a very, very simple tag for the bags. I had 4 of the previous rainbow twizzler treat bags left and used 2 ea. of those as door prizes at the other 2 luncheons.
These were for the 3/15 Sweet Magnolia Luncheon

Here are some of my Sweet Magnolias!
Bea celebrated her 80th birthday this month!

Today is Bobbie's 75th birthday!

These were for the 3/21 Scarlet Sophisticates luncheon. Sorry, I didn't get a better close-up. It is the same as above, just done using the wide oval punch instead of the rectangular die.

Here are some of my lovely Scarlets!

St. Patty's Day Treats

This year I hosted my Red Hat Busy Bee group for March. We went to a place called The Pub. First time there. It was very good. I always like to do party favors when I host and this one was shared by several demos on my LNSDemosonly group. I loved it. The idea originated with www.ourbestbites.com . So I just had to make them. The topper was made using My Digital Studio.

While I did have a blast making these, 14 of them was more than enough, so my 2 other groups (1 of which I am also hosting at The Pub this week) will not be getting these. I will be making something for my Sweet Magnolias, but not quite as time consuming. I'll share those after the event on the 15th. I will also be making a little something for my Scarlet Sophisticates group (even though I am not hosting it) on the 21st. I must admit, I enjoy making things like this more than I like making cards. Probably why I haven't sat down and made any in awhile. Need to do so soon.  :-)

LNS Stampers Challenge #158

This weeks challenge is to make a card that is black, white and one other color. I had made this one for my son and DIL when they got married in Aug. 2011. I didn't have a picture of it until now and I am glad I hadn't been able to share it before, as it is perfect for this challenge.

I used Tempting Turquoise as my other color. The Elegant Lines Embossing folder was used on the white decorated with some pearls. The words are from the stamp set called "Word Play".

May 2023 MPP - Exploring In Color

I LOVE this month's cards, especially the ones with the buffalos. They remind me of our trip to hubby's sister's country home in...
