February MPP - Bouquet of Hope

While I love this kit, I dislike the need for this type of card. Unfortunately, I also had a need for them right away.  Sympathy cards are my least favorite to make and I have had to send too many over the last few months. My dear friend and red hat sister, Myra lost her husband, Jim on Feb. 16th (Berry card previously shared is for her) and my dearest friend and red hat and black hat sister, Carmen Rivera unexpectedly lost her nephew, Pedro Baez. I just found out that a friend and stamp customer lost her dad, I also know her mom, so 2 cards needed for them. None COVID related, but still so sad and hard to accept. 

Update: Had to make more of the cards for more losses. Too many friends losing loved ones and too many with loved ones that are ill and may not be with us long. 

Missing the black sequins & Mossy Meadow twine that cam in kit. They went MIA when I went to take the picture and make the cards. Found them after making my samples.

Made this one for Gabby G. She lost her dad. Sent one of the above ones to her mother.

Plus her cousin has a sarcoma on his heart and will be starting chemo. Added a notation in it for prayers for him.

Sent one of these to Betty Monroe. She was in hospital recently and has to now have 24 hr. care at home and is NOT happy about it. She is so independent and stubborn.

Sympathy Card using Berry Best (SAB) stamp set

Sadly, I needed a Sympathy Card for a dear friend, Myra Kieffer whose darling husband, Jim passed away Feb. 16th. He has been in the hospital for over a month, I believe and has been under hospice care and unfortunately unconcious since 2/11. Their 3rd anniversary was on 2/14, making it all so very hard.

Then right after I hear of his passing I found our my dear, dear friend Carmen Rivera lost her nephew/godson, Pedro (51 y.o.) unexpectedly. He wasn't feeling well and asked his father to ake him to ER, 2 hrs. after dropping him off his father received a call advising him that Pedro had a massive heart attack and passed away. Pedro's mother (Carmen's sister) had passed away recently as well, just making the situation even worse. He left behind a 25 y.o. son, who is not handling the loss well. He is now staying with Pedro's father (also named Pedro). Hopefully, they can console one another over the losses they have suffered. I am waiting for this month's My Paper Pumpkin (MPP) to make her card as it's theme is Sympathy. Also holding off on mailing this one, to see if I prefer the MPP one for her as well.

June Sr. Center Cardmaking Day (Rescheduled and done on 7/1/16)

Due to the Sr. Ctr.'s air conditioning breaking, the center closed the day I was to go, so I rescheduled as I wasn't going to be here for our usual date in July, so I wouldn't go until August again. I actually had everything pre-cut and stamped in advance and was ready when I got the email about the cancellation. So we rescheduled for 7/1. They really liked the cards I had this time and made more than usual. I gave them several color choices in each and they used up a lot of what I precut. I had no roses left. A couple did a little recreating. I like it when they do that and we have a couple of new ladies that are crafty, so I'm seeing more creativity again and not having to make the cards for them and they help the ones that need the assistance.

"D" is for Dog Sympathy Card

We have all had to put a beloved pet down at some point and we all know how hard that is. They become such an intergral part of our families. We have lost several beloved cats over the past few years. Recently, one of my hubby's co-workers had to put down his dog that he had rescued and has had for quite sometime and it was difficult. Harold asked me to make a card for him to give him from us, since we know how hard it is. He didn't ask until late the night before, so I kept it simple. I went ahead and made several extra, as I know several people with older dogs, so I figured I would keep some on hand. I was happy with the way they turned out for such short notice.I made 2 with Not Quite Navy and 2 with Night of Navy and both also used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the ticket corner punch as well. Can you guess which color combo he took - LOL!

Now to make some with "C" is for Cats, as I have a lot of friends with cats as well.

Sympathy Card

Here is a card I sent to someone in my LNSDemosOnly group, whose BIL passed away recently.

I need to make more Sympathy cards to have on hand. Seems here lately, between the groups I am in and family, I have constantly been in need of one and never have one handy and I hate making them at the time needed. I have missed sending a lot out as a result.

Catching up! - Sr. Ctr. Cards

Sorry, I haven't been posting. I haven't done much stamping lately and what I personally have done I can't show until I send them out as they are RAKs and I don't want to spoil the surprise for those they will receive them, even though they don't know who they are - LOL!
Also, I'd forgotten my camera several times when I went to the Sr. Ctr. so I had to take the photos on my cell phone and I just finally figured out how to get them from it to my computer. So now I have something to share. The Valentine's ones we did in January. Sets used in May and June were from the Ocassions Mini.

These cards were done in May. I love the way they turned out. Unfortunately the Lavendar Lace cardstock is retired. I use it sparingly, but it was perfect for these cards. They surprised me this time when they requested to do Sympathy cards as they normally want to do birthdays. Only 2 ladies came this time and one came late and made one card.

Close as a Memory

This is a card I just recently did for a friend who's mother passed away. It is always hard to make a card for this occasion, when you enjoy making your cards. I need to make a some and have them ready, so that I don't feel guilty about enjoying making these cards before I send them out. I also used this layout at my recent Easter Card Stamp-a-Stack, just changed the words to "Easter Wishes" and a different sentiment inside.
